On the way through the peninsula you cross a lot of small former sailor and fishing villages, which will impress you with their charm of the times long ago.
From "Ahrenshoop", even today well-known as artist's village, invite you with his galleries, ateliers and art exhibitions. On the way to the sailor villages "Prerow" and "Zingst" the fishing villages "Born" and "Wieck" invites the guest to stay. Located at the brackish water side of the peninsula, impress these villages with their captivating and thatched houses typical for that region.

Each year in March and September arrive 5000 till 40.000 cranes in the birds sanctuary of the peninsula "Fischland - Darss- Zingst" to take a break, before they start their trip back to the Scandinavian hatchery respectively in the autumn in their overwinter survival regions in France and Spain. Every year offer these impressive birds an impressive natural spectacle during their rest on our peninsula.
In the daytime the cranes forage for food on the harvested grain- and cornfields in the hinterland and in the evening they fly in long formations back to their roosts in the shallow water zones of the national park "Vorpommersche Boddenlandschaft"
